Ok I recieved a preapproved capital one card and got a 45 dollar membership fee before i activated it.?
I wasn't sure if i was going to activate or cancle the card but I got a statement saying i 45 dollars for a membership fee. I was wondering that if there is any other fees for activation or is the 45 the activation charge or what?
A-Best: Thats odd. I have a capital One, and I didn't have a member ship fee. You should call their 800 #.
A: I got the same and boy the trouble and calls I made to cancel the darn thing.
A: tah tis the member ship fee and to activate it can and might cost you more money
A: dont know, but we know whats in your wallet lol:)
A: The charge is your annual fee for having the card. Cancel the card immediately and only get cards with NO annual fees. Good luck!!
A: I would cancel and not pay. There are to many cards out there for free to have to pay, unless you have bad credit.
A: this is the only fee that will be assesed to youre account for now later on theyll asses late fees if youre late other than that dont worry about any other fees!! That is until one year from when you got youre card and activated then youll be chargeda anual fee of 45$
A: You have a card that has membership fees. So each year you have to pay for the privilege of using the card. There are many cards out there that do not have membership fees. If you have bad credit, or you are getting your first card, you might have to settle for this until you build up your credit as a responsible adult that pays their bills.
A: GOTCHA..... they will get you any way they can to get you signed up.. it's all in the small print, which most people don't read. I don't really know, but if they want your business, they won't charge you activation fees. or yearly fees... EVERYONE is pre-approved, (no offense) don't think you're special. And seriously, I don't think they can charge you a membership fee, if you haven't even ACTIVATED the card. Good luck
A: Did you read thru all the fine print on that offer? Do you still have the papers for the offer? Read thru and see if there are other fees.
If it were an annual fee, that's what it would say on the statement. A membership fee might be some kind of fee to initiate the account. You could end up with monthly fees. You really need to read thru the offer.
If you cancel the account without activating the card, they should remove that $45 fee. Be sure to close the account in writing and request verification that the account is closed. Keep both these letters with your important financial papers. Sometimes closed accounts come back to haunt you.
